Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson recently sent out an email saying this:

The situation in Louisville isn’t as difficult as the economic challenges that many other cities and states are facing today. But we will need to make reductions in spending that will impact virtually every area of Louisville Metro Government.

That’s why I’m asking you – the people who provide the services for our citizens – to share your thoughts and ideas for improving efficiency and saving money.

That’s what Steve Beshear did just a few days ago. Is it common for executives to do this, or is one of these guys just jocking the other?
