I got word from someone who lives in Louisville’s east end tonight that they were polled over the telephone about this year’s race for KY’s 3rd District congressional seat. Presumably the poll would have raised the question of first term Rep. John Yarmuth (D - KY / San Francisco) (here) versus Erwin Roberts, or maybe just a general Republican. It didn’t though.
The poll asked respondents about a 2006 rematch between Anne Northup and Yarmuth.
This is certainly unusual because of, well, the scenario in general. Northup lost in 2006 and then in the Republican gubernatorial primary in 2007. Erwin Roberts has been raising money and planning his run. Northup endorsed Roberts already and was the guest at a special fundraiser for him.
Why would any pollster waste money on asking people if they preferred Northup or Yarmuth? It’s almost like the person was lying or confused, but I really don’t think they were. It’s just weird.

What do mean by the “scenario”? I’ve heard nothing of a possible rematch, but I would be careful when insinuating the 06 & 07 losses would make her less formidable than Erwin.
BTW, when will Erwin be reporting his year end? Got a feeling we might see he’s been doing more planning than fundraising. Just a guess.
