Congressman John Yarmuth (D - KY / San Francisco) released its fundraising status late today, according to PolitickerKY.
Yarmuth raised about $250,000 in the Q1, and had about $660,000 on hand at the end of 2007. He says he's raised about $1.1 million in the 2008 cycle, but if I'm reading the reporting correctly he has about $900,000 in the bank right now.
That is disappointing for Yarmuth, especially in comparison to what his challenger Anne Northup has reportedly raised. The Northup campaign has not released official numbers, but they are not denying the rumors that she raked in around $450,000 in the short two months that she has been in the race.
Money will be necessary for Northup to succeed in ousting Yarmuth. Multiple sources from around the country are working to be sure she has what she needs, including pro-life groups and ROMP, House Republican Leader John Boehner's Regain Our Majority Program.
This is more proof that Northup is the strongest Republican challenger in the country. If you want a Republican to beat a Democrat incumbent in 2008, you need to give money to Northup for Congress and then come to Louisville and do volunteer work for the Northup campaign this fall.
