Republican Party Of Kentucky Praises McCain’s Judicial Philosophy

Chairman Steve Robertson released a statement today:

Sen. McCain understands how important it is to have judges who will follow the Constitution, not legislate from the bench. The next president will nominate hundreds of qualified men and women to the federal courts, and the impact of these choices will reach far into the future. Unlike Barack Obama and Senator Clinton, John McCain will stand up against judicial activism and nominate individuals to the bench with a proven commitment to judicial restraint.

Robertson is exactly right. People need to understand that the judiciary appointments the next president will make will consist of much more than any potential Supreme Court nominees. There could be literally hundreds of nominees to the various federal courts, like the Ninth Circus I referenced earlier.

Politicians are lobbied heavily by the ACLU and numerous liberal organizations to only approve and advocate judges they like for these spots because if they can get decisions they like in certain cases at the lower courts, they know the chances of it moving up to the Supreme Court are relatively small, so the liberals win.

In an instant, the law has been silently shaped to favor the liberal view of this country.

Also, getting judges they like into these bench spots gives them greater flexibility in court-shopping. When they want to file a lawsuit in order to shape the law, they’ll often file it in a place where they think they can get a decision favorable to their cause.

Having sensible appointments to every single judiciary slot is absolutely vital to the common sense health of this nation. We have a really good chance with John McCain, and we know we can’t trust Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama to do a good job with it.

Please do everything you can to educate your friends and neighbors on the importance of this matter in the upcoming election. Even most Democrats think that some of the loony decisions made by people who got to the bench during the Clinton years are asinine. Tell your Democrat friends, too.
