Reports from people close to the Anne Northup campaign are indicating that Northup was able to raise about $625,000 in the second quarter, which stretched from April 1 to June 30.
To put that in perspective and to acknowledge exactly how well Northup is doing one should note that W. Bruce Lunsford, the Democrat challenger to Senator Mitch McConnell, reported raising $600,000 recently.
We should expect official reports from Northup and Rep. John Yarmuth (D - Bitter Kentucky) , who has historically been weak on fundraising, soon. Yarmuth may show signs of improvement in this quarter due to the tripo Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D - San Francisco) made to Louisville last month to help him bring in campaign cash.
That brings Northup’s total funds raised to around $1.1 million for the 5 months she’s been in the race, and supposedly she has around $820,000 cash on hand.
